Ministry Allocates 1mln Egyptian Pounds for Int’l Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Egypt’s Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs said it will give cash prizes amounting to one million pounds to winners of the country’s upcoming Quran international competition.

 

According to vetogate.com, the ministry has also allotted 200,000 pound in cash prizes for two other Quran contests planned to be held simultaneously with the international one.

They are Egypt’s national Quran competition and the Quran competition for the physically-impaired.

 The 26th edition of Egypt’s international Quran competition is slated to be held in the capital Cairo in March 2019.

In 2018, representatives of 50 countries vied for the top prizes in the 25th edition of the Quranic event.

Organized with the motto of “Quds is Arab” in solidarity with the holy city of Quds (Jerusalem), the competition run from March 24 to 29.
